ASSESSMENT
Mental Health Assessment
service is a clinical evaluation provided by trained staff which includes gathering information to assess a youths needs and functioning in order to determine appropriate service/treatment based on the identification of the presenting problem, evaluation of mental status, and the formulation of a diagnostic impression.  This is a fee based service.  Sliding fee scale (based on income and number of dependents) is available to residents of Erie and Ottawa Counties. Contact either of our offices for further information or to set up an appointment.

CRISIS INTERVENTION
Crisis Intervention service is a face-to-face response with a youth/family to a developing situation and includes an assessment of the presenting crisis, a risk assessment, mental status, immediate stabilization, and the determination of level of care.  It may include hospital pre-screening to determine appropriate treatment services and coordinate the follow through of those services and referral linkage. This is a fee based service.  Sliding fee scale (based on income and number of dependents) is available to residents of Erie and Ottawa Counties. COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIC SUPPORTIVE TREATMENT (Case Management)
Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment is the provision, by a multi-disciplinary team, of client and family focused community based case management services that address the needs of the emotionally troubled or general population youth and families. The intent of this service is to provide specific and individualized services to the youth and family that includes supporting the youths ability to succeed in the community and to identify and access needed services. PHARMACOLOGIC MANAGEMENT SERVICE (Medication)
Pharmacologic Management
service is provided by a psychiatrist, a medical physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses. The service includes a psychiatric and mental health examination, prescription for medication, education regarding the purpose, risk, side effects and benefits of the medication being prescribed, the administration and supervision of medication and follow up as clinically indicated. This is a fee based service. COUNSELING
Individual and/or family counseling service focuses on the treatment of the youth?s mental illness or emotional disturbance. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is one form of therapy that is provided. Studies of CBT have demonstrated its usefulness for a wide variety of problems, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse disorders, and personality disorders. Family members, parents, guardians and significant others may also be involved in order to achieve the goal of improved functioning of the youth. This is a fee based service.  Sliding fee scale (based on income and number of dependents) is available to residents of Erie and Ottawa Counties. INTEGRATIVE FAMILY AND SYSTEMS TREATMENT - Home Based Family Counseling
Integrative Family and Systems Treatment (IFAST) is a home based model of treatment based on researched-based treatment interventions and a strengths perspective for working with at-risk children and their families. Therapeutic alliance with the family includes the development of a bond of trust, respect, and a caring and mutual agreement between the therapist and the family about their investment in achieving the treatment goals after a clear definition of the problem is identified. The IFAST program focuses on changing family interaction patterns that are maintaining the problem behaviors. The therapist works collaboratively with family members to initiate alternative, beneficial, and new behaviors that will result in solving the presenting problems and achieving treatment goals. When needed, systems collaboration is a fundamental component of the IFAST program. The program has demonstrated evidence that is effective in improving children's behavioral problems, reducing out-of-home placement, improving family functioning, enhancing parental competence in addressing problems and facilitating family participation in treatment. SPECIALIZED TREATMENT
Youth Victims of Sexual Abuse
is an individualized treatment program for youth who are victims of sexual abuse. It is based on cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy and family systems therapy.  Youth are seen for individual counseling as well as family counseling when appropriate. Sexual Abuse Treatment Program for Youth
is an individualized treatment program for low risk youth with sexual behavior problems (12-17 yrs.). It consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho-education, and relapse prevention.  Individual and family therapy is provided bi-weekly with a length of treatment of about 6 months or less. THINKING FOR CHANGE
Thinking For A Change is a cognitive behavioral program for teens that follows a simple straightforward principle thinking (internal behavior) controls actions (external behavior).  The Thinking For A Change program uses a combination of approaches to increase awareness of self and others. Attention to attitudes, beliefs, and thinking patterns is combined with the teaching of interpersonal skills important to the teen's present and future needs.  The goal is to provide instruction and related experiences so that the teen is confident and motivated to use positive social skills when faced with antisocial or stressful problems.  The philosophy of the program endorses that teens should be empowered to be responsible for changing their own problem behaviors.  It offers teens the tools to take positive social actions and change their ways.  Thinking For A Change consists of 21 sessions meeting 90 minutes each session for 21 weeks. Prior to participation in this program an assessment and a 1/2 hour session of individual counseling is required. EMPLOYMENT/VOCATIONAL SERVICES
Employment/vocational services - Supported Employment Preparation and Linkages Services (SEPALS) program provides training and skill development with outcomes of obtaining or maintaining employment, learning new job skills, increasing self-sufficiency and contributing to the community.  This service is available to youth 14 yrs. of age and older.  There is no fee for this service. CONSULTATION
Consultation service
is an exchange between agency staff and a person, agency or organization which is focused on the clinical condition of a youth served by the person, agency or organization. There is no fee for this service. Contact Dr. Martin Williams at 419 734 2942 Ext. 20.

SEX SPECIFIC EVALUATION
Sex Specific Evaluation is a very specific type of formal evaluation conducted with a youth exhibiting sexual behavior problems. A detailed written report and recommendations is completed following the evaluation.  This is a referral based only service and is a private pay service.  For more information contact Mary Kay Baumgartner at 419 734 2942 ext. 14.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION
Psychological Evaluation consists of a comprehensive evaluation by a licensed clinical psychologist of emotional, psychological, educational,  and behavior issues of a youth.  A complete evaluation consists of clinical interview/s testing, interpretation, and compilation of the results into a written report. In order to receive an evaluation, a written referral must be received (court, attorney, agency, etc). The retainer fee for this service is $600.00.
